We are thrilled to announce our artist series at Project Social. Each month we will feature a new local artist and host a showcase in honor of them.

Ken Ruzic has been exhibiting since 1990.

Working for Surfwear brands in the 90s/early 2000s

led him to focus on Pacific myth and iconography.

Around 2005,he was introduced to the Polynesian Pop

movement,and quickly found a connection with the diverse

talents and knowledge of it’s artists,musicians,and carvers.

It was there that he developed his unique style and narrative,

taking elements of Tiki art and culture, both the sacred

and kitsch  elements and creating a world unlike any other...

During this 20 year journey,Ken has produced art and a

range of art objects for patrons and Tiki Bars. He has

travelled to Hawaii and Australia  for exhibitions

with his art brothers Doug Horne and BigToe,

Painted a 14 x 40 foot mural for Wilfred’s lounge in Napa,

And had a piece displayed at the Musee Qua Branley in Paris.

Some recent shows have been the “SubCultural Appropriation”

exhibition at the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas,

and  appearances in “Rum And Riot”, a soon to be released

documentary examining the Punk and Tiki movements

and how they evolved and intersected.
